Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) is the fastest growing financing option for clean energy upgrades in the country. It starts with a government policy that classifies clean energy upgrades as a permanent public benefit – like a new sewer, water line, or road. These upgrades can be financed with no money down and then repaid as a benefit assessment on the property tax bill over long term (over 20 years). The assessment transfers on sale and can be passed through to tenants. With no cash outlay, long repayment periods, and immediate cash flow from energy savings, property owners are using PACE to implement deeper energy efficiency projects. It’s easy to see why building owners across the country are choosing PACE!

Greenworks Lending, a national Commercial PACE financier, recently financed comprehensive energy efficiency retrofits in the Central Parke office in Norwood, Ohio. The project included a wide range of energy efficiency measures including automation control upgrades and water loop heat pump systems, boilers, cooling towers, and HVAC systems using $2,015,599 in PACE financing. The project is going to save over $140k annually in energy and tax expenses and over $3.5M over the life of the equipment.
