This was an informational meeting about new electric vehicles.  Attendees learned about the clean energy and sustainability of electric vehicles from a presentation by guest speaker Jordan Wallpe, Electric Transportation Manager from Duke Energy, about the EV market and new advances in battery storage.

Using electricity allows an electric vehicle (or EV) to produce zero exhaust emissions, therefore reducing mobile air pollutants (even though we still must consider and assess emissions from the electricity's generation, especially when generated by burning coal or natural gas).  EVs are becoming more cost efficient for consumers to charge as the price for oil increases while the price of electricity falls or remains more constant.

While EV technologies are still being perfected and advanced, the implementation of EVs in everyday life is gaining momentum, thus paving the way for an all-electric vehicle future.
